Editorial & Research Policy
HSKRC is an independent digital research and preservation project. This policy explains how we distinguish evidence from interpretation, document sources, handle images and AI-assisted work, and respect copyright and access rights.
Source standards
Historical and research claims should be traceable to identifiable sources. HSKRC prioritises primary sources, critical editions, peer-reviewed scholarship, academic publishers, recognised reference works, and official institutional or heritage records. Where credible sources disagree, the disagreement should be described rather than hidden.
Historical imagery and visual evidence
HSKRC does not present AI-generated, fictional, or speculative historical reconstructions as documentary evidence. Images presented as historical evidence should have a documented source and, where relevant, a clear rights or licence status. Illustrative reconstructions may only be used when clearly labelled as such and when they add scholarly value without being confused with authentic historical material.
Copyright, PDFs and lawful access
HSKRC does not knowingly redistribute copyrighted books, articles or PDFs without documented permission, an applicable open licence, or public-domain status. When redistribution rights are not verified, local download access is disabled and, where possible, HSKRC provides an official publisher, institution, library catalogue, or commercial access link instead.
Translations, summaries and AI-assisted work
Translations and summaries must identify the underlying source and must not be presented as a substitute for the original work. AI may assist drafting, translation, indexing, formatting or summarisation, but AI output is not treated as a scholarly source. Material intended as research content should be checked against cited sources, edited for accuracy, and labelled when AI assistance is materially relevant.
Citations and research records
HSKRC aims to provide author, title, institution or publisher, publication year where known, source type, and a stable official or catalogue link. Research Explorer relationships are intended to make the provenance of articles, books, people, places and sources more transparent.
Corrections and versioning
HSKRC welcomes documented corrections. When a material factual or bibliographic issue is identified, the record should be reviewed against reliable evidence and corrected. Suggestions can be submitted through the Feedback & Contact page. Published pages may be updated as better evidence or bibliographic information becomes available.
Independence and scope
HSKRC is an independent project and is not presented as an official publication of the institutions to which it links. External links are provided for research, verification and lawful access; inclusion does not imply endorsement by the linked institution.
